Dragon Ball Attempting New Kamehameha World Record at San Diego

Image
Are you looking to enter the Guinness Book of World Records while simultaneously showing off your love for  Dragon Ball ? Toei Animation is attempting to gather the largest number of DB fans in one place during the San Diego Comic-Con to break the world record for most people concurrently performing the trademark move of the franchise: The Kamehameha! Taking place on July 17th at 3:30PM at the legendary convention, Toei is hoping to get as many  Dragon Ball  fans at once to smash through the this record after gathering enough ki. Toei Animation broke the news on their official, giving the details on how  Dragon Ball  fans attending San Diego Comic-Con can perform the trademark move, with the English voice of Goku Sean Schemmel leading the charge. In Japanese, "Kamehameha" is translated to "Turtle Destruction Wave", which of course is a nod to Master Roshi and his affinity to the slow and steady reptile. However, Kameham...

Dragon Ball Z Auction Selling Classic Vegeta Family Sketch

Image
Vegeta has developed a lot during the course of the  Dragon Ball  franchise. Originally appearing as planet smashing full of himself prince, the Saiyan has developed into a family man who still also remains a full of himself prince. Recently, an auction was created for an original piece of artwork from DB director Naotoshi Shida who depicted the Vegeta clan taking a fun, yet awkward, family photo. While two thirds of the family are from the far future with Bulma and Trunks represented by their future selves, Vegeta remains the same as usual. Vegeta's progression into a family man follows a long line of villains in the series that have turned to the side of good during their time. Majin Buu, Androids 17 and 18, Piccolo, and many more went from being full fledged villains to heroes and/or anti-heroes. Even Freeza has managed to stay on the up and up by joining Universe 7 in their fight during the Tournament of Power, though based on his actions, we don'...

Dragon Ball Fans React to Goku's Latest, Impressive Anime Fight

Image
Super Dragon Ball Heroes   has been an impressive experiment for the franchise as the popular card arcade game in Japan has been releasing a series of promotional anime episodes filled with non-canon fights and adventures. It's seen some surprising franchise returns and power variations over the course of its few episodes, but the latest one definitely took fans by surprise even more than expected. Episode 13 of the promotional anime series debuted a new fight with Super Saiyan Blue Goku against the powerful Super Hearts of the Core Area, but it's a fight that stands out from every fight in the series thus far. Animated by talents such as Naotoshi Shida, the fight between Goku and Hearts has been a huge hit with fans as it's much different than everything in the episodes to date. With flowing hair, flashy attacks, and smooth animations, this latest episode proved that this promotional anime series shouldn't be as overlooked as it has.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to Include Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan as Playable Characters

Image
Dragon Ball Z : Kakarot  will be mostly about the character of the same name, but there will also be other playable fighters. The newest edition of  V-Jump has revealed that Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan will all be featured as playable characters throughout the story of  Kakarot . These are the first additional characters beyond just Goku who have been confirmed to be playable, so there’s a chance that we could see even more fighters revealed in the future. Gematsu and Ryokutya 2089 reported on the issue of  V-Jump  which listed not only these playable characters but also others who will make appearances to support the four that have been revealed so far. Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan being playable may come as a slight surprise seeing how the whole game is named after Goku, though if you’ve followed the stories within  Dragon Ball Z  throughout its many adaptations, it makes sense that there would be other playable options. Moments such...

Dragon Ball Z San Diego Comic-Con World Record Goes Down With Hundreds Of Fans

Image
The record has been shattered.  The attendees of San Diego Comic-Con drew upon their power as Super Saiyans to smash through the Guinness World Record for most participants in performing a Kamehameha! While the total number of participants has yet to be tallied, the record has officially been broken according to Bandai Namco and Funimation sources.  Our own Megan Peters was also on hand to lend her energy to the endeavor . Seemingly hundreds of attendees gathered in the early hours of the San Diego Comic Con to perform the move that was created by Master Roshi, but perfected by Goku in his travels through the  Dragon Ball  franchise. Many other characters along the way have harnessed the power of the trademark  Dragon Ball  move with Krillin, Yamcha, Gohan, and others harnessing its power. We're still waiting for the shocking day when Vegeta releases a version of his own that isn't the Galick Gun. The Kamehameha was learned by Goku , and s...

Dragon Ball Heroes Reveals Impressive Piccolo, Android 17 Tag-Team

Image
Super Dragon Ball Heroes  promotional anime series has featured plenty of fan service over its short run, but each new episode continues to surprise as this series has gone on for much longer than fans had ever expected it would. The fight with the new villains of the Core Area has already resulted in some interesting match ups, but the latest episode takes it one step further by featuring some teamwork from a pair that didn't get to work together much during their time on  Dragon Ball Super . With the fight against this powerful villain group being brought to Universe 7, Piccolo and Android 17 have surprisingly teamed up against the powerful Android duo of Kami and Oren and even displayed some great team skills of their own to combat them. While Goku is being kept busy against Super Hearts in Episode 13 of the promotional anime series, Android 17 and Piccolo are dealing with the now fused Kamioren. Kamioren has proven to be a strong foe before, and that's...

Early Dragon Ball Z Script Teases Original Episode Title, Piccolo's Nickname

Image
Dragon Ball Super  remains one of the biggest anime franchises to ever exist, and it has gathered more than enough content to make a museum and then some. Over the last 20 years, the shonen has put out hundreds of episodes as well as merchandise and other artifacts. And thanks to a resurfaced script, fans are learning more about an important part of  Dragon Ball ’s history. Recently, Yahoo Japan hosted an auction to sell a working script for one of the original  Dragon Ball Z  episodes. The page, which can be found here, shows off photos of the anime’s episode two script. However, fans noticed something rather interesting about the relic. Of course, there is a big name change to note. The series was not referred to as  Dragon Ball Z  at this time, and the first title put more emphasis on Gohan. However, the episode’s title is very different from what the final episode two. According to translators, the second episode was ori...

New Dragon Ball Super Promo Teases the Final Battle with Moro

Image
Dragon Ball Super  manga has gone passed the end of the anime series, it has been received incredibly well by fans. This has led to the series covering all new territory, and this especially includes the intriguing new villain Planet Eater Moro. After defeating both Goku and Vegeta early on, his magic increased his power with every new chapter. The battle with him on New Namek has reached a new stage too as Moro . It's why fans are especially looking forward to the next chapter of the series, which seems to be setting up as the final battle with Moro. At the very least, the end of the battle seems to be near. Check out a new promo for the next chapter below. This promo from Shueisha's V-Jump magazine  unfortunately doesn't give too much away about the final battle with Moro, but it does have an interesting illustration for the next volume of the series gearing up for its release in Japan. Along with putting Goku and Vegeta in full Galactic Patrol gear, something tha...

Dragon Ball Super   manga's 50th issue won't just be a milestone in numbering - it'll also be a milestone chapter of the story arc that fans have been overwhelmingly loving. The "Galactic Patrol Prisoner" arc has introduced some exciting new characters and developments into the   Dragon Ball Supe r   mythos - and it's about to do so again. A new promo for the next issue of  Dragon Ball Super   has now been released, and if you pay close attention to the image below, you'll notice that Goku and Vegeta are depicted with some new battle suit tech, courtesy of the Galactic Patrol: Now granted, this is only a promo, and the artwork showing Goku and Vegeta in Galactic Patrol battle suits is actually part of the cover art for volume 10 of the  Dragon Ball Super  collected edition. Those covers are really just interpretations of the respective story arcs featured in the collected volume - as in, not to be taken too literally. On the other hand, so far...
